FAQs
Prices
Will postage, packing
or VAT be added at checkout?
No, the price you see quoted is inclusive of postage, packing and
VAT. The price you see is the price you pay. The only exception is
for buyers outside of the UK who will need to pay for the extra
postage costs involved in shipping overseas.
Supplying my own image
Can I supply you with my own
photograph for you to print onto canvas?
Yes, we can use your own image to create a canvas print. Digital
images are best for us; just email us the image with the size canvas
you require and we will give you a quote. Alternatively see our price
list here for prices of some
popular sizes.
Can I email or upload
my image to you?
Yes, you can either email your image to
sales@canvas2u.co.uk or
you can upload it by clicking here.
My picture is not digital, can you
still print it onto canvas?
Yes we can. You can
post your photograph to us and we will need to scan it.
What if the resolution of my
picture is low or was taken on a mobile phone?
We may still be able to produce the
canvas from it as there are ways to enhance it. Just email us the
image and we will take a look.
What about copyright?
You must have taken the image or
have obtained permission from the copyright owner of the image for
us to print it for you. By submitting an image to us you confirm
that you are the copyright owner or have permission.
What format should the files be?
If you are emailing, then jpeg is
probably best but we can accept any graphic file, for example TIFF,
PSD or PDF. The bigger the image the better (as a guide your file
size should be between 1Mb and 5Mb). If you are scanning
photos yourself, please scan at 300 dpi (dots per inch) or higher.
I do not want the image printed
around the sides of the fame, is this possible?
Yes - just ask us.

Yes. We will always remove red eye,
scratches, date stamps and any other blemishes. We can crop your
images to any ratio required, make the image black and white, sepia,
or other colour tint. We can also increase contrast or add colour.

Materials & Quality
How should I hang my canvas?
All our canvases are "ready to
hang." You can either simply put a screw or nail into the wall and
the frame will hang onto it. If security/safety is an issue then you
may consider using picture wire and hooks or other brackets/fixings.
How do I look after my canvas
print?
Do not expose your canvas print to
strong heat (e.g, directly above a hot radiator, heater, or fire)
or excessive moisture. Do not use any chemical cleaning agents,
fluids or sprays on your canvas. To remove dust you can use a
low powered vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment, a feather
duster, or a light static cleaning cloth. Do not allow your canvas
to become wet. Do not rub the canvas. To prolong the life of the canvas it
is best not to
hang it in an area that receives a lot of direct sunlight.
What materials do you use
We use professionally made rosewood, fir or pine
stretcher frames in two depths - 28mm (this is our
standard size), or a chunky 38mm gallery style. The bars have a lip
which prevents the canvas from coming into contact with the inside
edge of the frame and will prevent the inside edge forming any
indentations in the canvas.
The canvas is premium quality 395 grams per
square meter. The printer we use is a HP DesignJet z2100 which uses
8 separate inks. We use genuine HP Vivera inks that are classed as
museum quality and guaranteed fade resistant for 200 years.
Can you make any size?
The canvas we use is on 24 inch
wide rolls. This means that when allowing for the canvas to the stretched around
the sides of the frame, one side of the frame can only be a maximum on 20
inches. The other side can be anything up to the length of the roll - 45 feet.
If you require a print that has both sides bigger than 20 inches then we can
always split the print into panels.

Delivery & Returns
How do you send prints out?
Finished prints are wrapped in
bubble wrap, with an outer wrapping of cardboard. We use Royal Mail
to delivery your order.
How long will my order take?
We aim to dispatch within 2 days.
Complicated orders (i.e. odd sizes, split panels or images supplied by yourself
that need a lot of manipulation) may take a bit longer.
What if I am not happy when my
order arrives?
Firstly please contact as soon as
possible and we will do our best to help. If we can not then you can return the
print to us for a refund. The original postage and packing charge is not
refundable.
